Car/garage: Well, I am sorry to report that this one was the big let down. Hammie is meant to go into garage on his own, go into car then drive off out of garage doors. In reality, the hammie ciould not get into correct position in car. Even when you take hammie out of garage and put hammie in correct position in car yourself it still did not work. hammie kind of rears up and shoots over the bit that is meant to hold him in and allow him to push the car forwards. We got it to work a couple of times by repositioning hamster a lot ourselves. It worked about twice though we tried about 20 times!!! No hope of hammie doing it on own as meant too. Tried 2 different hamsters (chunk and pipsqueak!) neither hammie could do it. Dp's view is that there was nothing wrong with hammies or car/garage, nothing broken to look at. He reckons he can fix it by fixing a little harnesss thing inside car to make hasmmie stay in right place rather than rearing forward into wrong position. He is going to start on this tonight! Will let you know how it goes. If he can get it to work it will be great fun.

I would be really interested to know if any of you have a car /garage that works as it is meant to. if you have not tried it out, maybe do so in case you too need to make some modifications in advance of xmas day?!

I've got the car but haven't tried it out. Does it actually attach to the playset or is it to be used seperately?

OMG i have just paid way over the top for a ball and garage!!!! boohoo couldn't sit at my computer much longer! my house is a mess. lol

Or..... Just had another thought - set it up and just place a few ribbons/bows over it so looks like santa put in a little extra effort

something very strange, i placed an order on amazon for the new hammies coming out next year, i have now had an email from amazon cancelling them and saying that they will not be getting these in, as there supplier has cancelled them. odd.

Hamsterface - Thanks so much for that - glad all got good reviews barring the car. I have wrapped mine now but we'll perservere - one thing out of all stuff (except ball) isn't a bad review.

Now - off topic. My youngest is 3.5 yrs old and about 2 stone. I need to get him a new car seat but the highback boosters without harness are not quite suitable for him yet. I don't want a bulky one - any thoughts or suggestions?? My eldest has the Graco one with the cup holders and now doesn't need the back part of the seat. I suppose i could just get him a new basic seat and let my youngest have his instead but again no harness so i couldn't do the swap yet - he is looking a little squashed in his old Britax one. Thanks in advance and sorry to go off topic.

I think i will set mine up aswell. If i ever manage to get my hands on anything else but hammies and house lol
