maternity allowance change tax credits?

I've just been on entitledto.co.uk to see what money we'll get when I stop my part time job, 16 hours a week self employed, and switch to maternity allowance. It says there'll be no difference in my tax credits. Just wondering if anyone has done this so can confirm it, it just seems strange because if I was working 15 hours or less, I'd get far less money even if I was earning the same, so how does it stay the same if I stop working but get money?
