playing mp3 files

Hi, is there a speaker device that will play MP3 files that are stored on a USB stick or a memory card.
I don't really want to fork out for a MP3 player and speaker dock if there exists a device just to play my mp3 files on a speaker. Currently I have mp3 files on my PC and just use that for playing them. I want to play the files away from the PC.
I know that there are systems that have USB connections but I understand that a USB player needs to be attached and not just a USB stick of files?
Hope what I'm asking makes sense!

Not sure if this is any good for you, but have a look.
It is probably easier just to buy a cheap MP3 Player, because it is the 3.5mm jack that is the key feature. It will mean you will have opeed a door to hundreds of different universal docks. Not only do you get the option of more docks, but you save a lot compared to the rare 'straight from USB' playing docks. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Many thanks Bowling. So would one of those i-pod docking stations that are so prevalent take a 3.5 mm jack? What sort of 'cheap' MP3 players are they? All I ever see are i-pods.0

There is quite a range of MP3 players. Some examples here.
Most docks (if not exclusive for iPod) will have a 3.5mm jack.
You could consider getting an MP3 player with an in-built speaker, for example this one.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

More examples: Some will have speakers and some will have slots for flash memory cards. Some even have both, but they're pretty rare and seldom worth bothering with.0
