Hi all

Is anyone else having problems with getting Avira to do the automatic updates recently?
For the last 2 weeks or so, I've been having to download the manual update file and do the update the long way round.

Could it be my install has somehow become corrupted?

Any reasonable suggestions gratefully received.

It isn't just you. This has been mentioned several times recently. Some just do manual updates which apparently do work OK.

I dumped Avira for MSE, it was reasonable for me.

I tried MSE and it slowed my system down very badly.
If I to do a normal update it appears to download and update the files but nothing else happens and the date doesn't change.

Having no problems at all with automatic updating even though more than 100.000.000 Users are trying to get the update more or less on the same day.

Try uninstalling/installing again to fix problem
  • I found it was the beta 3.6 version of firefox which was the problem. If you use this go back to 3.5 and see what happens.

    I'm on 3.5.5 for Firefox.
I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling and see if that solves the problem.
