Our peice of slate is due to arrive next week and we need to fix it down before our stove arrives. How should it be fixed down? Underneath there's smooth concrete where we've had it rendered.
Should we use flexible adhesive or a mortar mix? Or something totally different!
Thanks in advance.

bit of no nails or pink should do fine0

Would not have bothered rendering under that bit - lay it down on a wet mortar mix.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Yep, ours is bedded on mortar, still tip top after 21 years.0

I laid the granite hearth on mortar last week. Did a 4 to 1 mix and all seems fine! This is what the HETAS chap recommended to me! DO IT JIM!0
