You can use it for personal email addresses eg your.name@suits.eu (or whatever domain you buy), and/or you could point www.suits.eu to your personal Web page if you have one (or any other page eg your Twitter or Facebook or Bebo etc page).

For that reason, I don't understand why anyone would only want a domain for one year, and wouldn't want to renew*. If you don't renew, you would lose your personal email address and/or Web address that you've just spent the last year using and telling people about...

Personally, I prefer .co.uk and .me.uk domains- they're much cheaper too!

(*Unless the plan is to transfer it to another registrar of course)

OK thanks, how do i get on to it to do stuff? Does I have to buy a host or something?

If its anything like my 123 reg domain name, mail sent to anythingyoulike@yourname.eu can be forwarded to you at the email account supplied by your ISP, gmail etc.. you then set the "reply to" address on your email client to anythingyoulike@yourname.eu so replies to your mail come back through your personalised address and hey presto you have an email address you can keep forever whatever ISP you use.
I send mine to my ISP provided account and a second copy to Google mail for use on my phone or when away from home, I like the Gmail client so much now I use it in preference to Windows Live mail.

Once you buy a domain, the company should then give you the ability to login to your account and set up email and Web page redirection.

Say your normal email address was msej20@gmail.com; if you bought suits.eu you should be able to set up email redirection so that everything sent to, for example, j20.baby@suits.eu automatically gets forwarded to msej20@gmail.com. So you could use j20.baby@suits.eu as your official email address, even though you're actually still using your regular gmail account.

Similarly, you could also set up Web redirection. For example, if you had a Twitter page, say, www.twitter.com/msej20, you could set things up so that anyone typing in www.suits.eu would automatically be redirected to the Twitter page.

So, at its simplest as above, you don't need to buy anything extra...

yes this particulr domain seller isn't the cheapest, so it's better to renew with another company.

.me.uk isn't really suitable for business or commercial use, .eu is and you've more chance of getting the domain you want as it's fairly recent. :)

• Okay, I feel I need to write something here about what happened to me after I bought one of these domain names for 12p.

I am very wary about which web sites I purchase from. Today I found that someone had transferred £3000 of money (that I do not have- overdraft) into their account illegally. The only purchase online and site I have entered my card details into is this one, and the withdrawl into someones Lloyds TSB account was made the same day. Maybe coiincidence, I hope so. I was in tears today.

But felt I should put this here in case it has happened to anyone else. I am gutted and hoope it hasn't happened to you, please check anyway._pale_

OMG!!!! What a shock for you, are your bank refunding the money? I've just checked my account and so far all seems as it should be. I hope you get it sorted pretty pronto xx.

Oh no that is so horrible, I've checked mine and all seems okay too. I hope things get sorted for you.
• Reported it to the bank as soon as I checked my account, the only place that had my card stored was at this website, remember to take your card details off their site, even if you have a renewal reminder. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before, am going to go back to the bank tomorrow to make sure the Fraud Squad are doing something about it, the name of the person the money was transferred to is Latvian, and it was a different bank, they have said they think it was done online. Hopefully the online audit trail will show up something. I just need my money back and for them to make sure none of my bills get stopped!! Am not likely to buy anything using my computer for a while, am going to format it and start again, just incase....thanks for the concern x
