Hello all,
When I recieve an email with a link in it, I'm unable to open the link. The PC freezes whilst its trying but then nothing happens. The same frustrating thing happens when I'm on a website and want to open something to view more information for example. It's frustrating beyond belief!
Any help and/ir suggestions gratefully received.

Firstly, you may want to try using a different browser (instead of Internet Explorer) I would strongly recommend Firefox (http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/) or Google Chrome (http://www.google.co.uk/chrome) - they are pretty easy to install and it's OK to have several installed at once.
Internet Explorer should also be kept up to date - (currently version 8) as the updates include important security fixes - this applies to all internet browsers too!
Then if the links work in other browsers OK, you either your default browser MIME associations are messed up (an area not really for non-techies!) or you may have nasties on your PC (malware) - Use the free version of Malware Bytes to clean it up - http://www.malwarebytes.org/ - you run a quick scan and delete and gremlins it may find.
It is always worth installing and running from time to time regardless as it is a very good program.
A search for malware removal on here will bring up loads of great advice.

I had malware on my pc only a few weeks ago resulting in a trip to the repair shop. I have kaspersky installed too! Thanks for your advice. Will try and then let you know later.
