Filled up with diesel today at £1.0899 per litre. Petrol was £1.0999 per litre.

Its a long time since diesel was cheaper than petrol.

  • Bl00dy typical. Should've known - just switched to petrol after having diesel for a long time.

Part of the rationale was that at one point diesel was almost 10p a litre more than petrol.

Oh well enjoying my little sporty puddle jumper.
  • It's 50/50 at the moment, but if it was summer diesel would be even lower considering increased demand for winter diesel fuel.

I don't think it makes much difference at the moment in all honesty.

I know that this is a bit left field, but I'm looking for some advice.

Our local petrol station is "up to no good". I have tried to contact Jet, but they have given me the brush off, saying that the station is provately owned so they do not regulate it.

For the last 5 or 6 weeks, Jet petrol station, willowbridge lane, castleford, west yorkshire has been reducing his unleaded price on a Saturday morning by 4p a litre, to 105.9p. The price then religiously goes back up to 109.9p first thing Sunday morning. Can this be done legally or is there anyone that I can flag this up to? I don't want people being ripped off!!!!
    Now debt free!! Yey.
Sealed pot challenge in full swing.
  • Its his petrol, he can do whatever he likes.

So he's offering cheap petrol and it's a rip off?

Plenty of service stations have "Happy Hours" at their quietest time of day.

What would happen if Jet took action? He'd keep the price at 109.9p all the time and his customers that have the foresight to use him on Saturday will lose out all thanks to you. That's really MoneySaving.

Is he manipulating his prices on Petrolprices.com I thought they up dated there prices more than once a week.
  • Last time i looked we were in a free market economy (obvious recent political blunders aside).

I.e. They can charge what they want, when they want. If you don't like it buy it somewhere else jesus. 105.9 is a good price and since you know when it is available at this price i cannot for the life of me fathom why your winging about it.

I wish more business would get "up to no good" on a Saturday morning.

    Rant over.

I haven't seen diesel cheaper than petrol anywhere yet.

My 'favourite' petrol station in Marlborough is back to its old tricks. Last week unleaded was 114.9 and diesel was 120.9. And, yes, it was busy. Why?
