Bonus over 4 years old any use?

Hi anyone know if bonus over 4 years old will be acceptable to anyone at all? We can prove driving on my car during that time - husband needs transport urgently.

Most companies only accept NCD for 2 years..... has he been driving anything in the last 4 years? Named driver on another policy? Company car? Motorbike?

Best thing to do in this situation is to swap the insurance of the car over each year between the two of you (I know that won't help you now, but might help someone reading).
That will keep both NCBs valid.
Obviously you have to honest about who is the main driver, but being the policyholder keep the NCB valid.
Normally the validity is 2 years, so swapping each year is ideal.

Speak to the Insurer of your car or a local broker (not Swintons) as they may be able to allow some kind of no claims bonus or introductory discount

If it were the other way round then there would be a fair number of insurers willing to mirror your husbands NCD onto a new car for you but unfortunately insurers as a rule of thumb are not progressive enough to consider house husbands etc.

If you speak to the insurers they may be willing to give you some form of discount given the history.
