Hihi!
So I'm moving to the states soon for work, and with it I'm taking my iPhone (currently jailbroken but not unlocked) and my work blackberry (locked).
So the first question is will the hardware physically support using an American SIM in the phones?
I'm aware the iphone and blackberry would both have to be fully unlocked to connect to the networks via their SIM anyway, but I know frequencies can be a bit different and it's not quite the same as roaming....
I'm hoping to avoid having to buy new physical phones while I'm over there so anything to save a bit of cash!
Thanks

If the phones are unlocked, there should be no issues at all
yes, different frequency bands are in use - 900 and 1800 MHz here, 850 and 1900 MHz there - but upmarket phones like yours will very likely indeed be quadband and cover them. 3g frequencies also vary, and that would be worth checking, but again if your phones are 3g I think they'll have all bands0 -
Ok so the iphone 2g and blackberry bold are indeed both quadband, so it will also accept american provider sims as long as the phones are completely unlocked?
That saves some cost! Will just buy a couple of new Sims over there
