Oh wow, thank you although I still can't make my mind up which it is. I'm hoping for a rat (!) as the council don't charge for rats but it's £45 for a squirrel! Off to make the callI haven't got one!0

They're coming out tomorrow and we reckon it's a rat - yippee, no charge!I haven't got one!0

"I have "something" in my loft. I can hear it running around all night, but every time I go up there, nothing.
There's no droppings of any kind around and as far as I can tell, no damage, but it's driving me nuts."
Have you seen The Exorcist??? ;-)Regards

Heard a sound the other day from the fireplace, like soot falling. It has been very solidly boarded up for 30 years, took a while to get the cover off, and a young starling flew out. So shut the doors and opened a window and it went in it's own time, but must have been hungry, ate all the cats food in the yard.
Roofer charged £35 to wire the three chimneys.
You could have eat the squirrel :-))0 -
I have to say, my reaction to those Google images was not "oh wow"....!!!!
We have had both mice and seagulls making a noise in / on our roof and roof space (It's hard to tell which, at 4.30am)
The seagulls sound as if they are having sports day, running around up there, jog jog jog jog jog jog BANG - I think the BANG is when they have a peck at whatever food they've found up there.
I am horrid to mice and put poison down for them, which seems to work. It's my storage space or them.
Some other locals also have had problems with badgers trying to make a sett under their house, and as if that wasn't enough, then with a lot of campaigners outside trying to stop them getting rid of the badgers!0 -
Well the man from the council came last Friday and put poison down for Rattie but I think it's just giving Rattie more energy (well chocolate flavoured pasta would certainly give me a boost!) He was tearing around, having a wail of a time at whatever time this morning. Anyway, the man comes back out today so we'll se what he says.
I actually thought the poison had done the trick last night as Rattie didn't emerge until way past the normal hour and me, I was lying in bed feeling sorry for him/her curled up in his/her little bed with rigamortis setting in - well that's it, no more feeling sad, Rattie's end is nigh!I haven't got one!0 -
So what happened then ?????0
