Which 19" TFT?

Am looking for a 19" tft, what's the best model for around £150?

Any suggestions? I think i'd prefer a decent make, rather than a generic Aria one.

  • well, to be frank, you're not going to get a quality brand name 19" tft for £150.
If you want a quality monitor you want to look at something like a Dell and you want to at least double your budget.
otherwise, find the cheapest 19" with an 8ms response and the longest warranty (I've seen some with 3 years), and you won't go too far wrong.

    I have this http://www.microdirect.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?productID=13819

I think its brilliant for the money, works well with games too.
    I'm better off without you.

I bought one of these a couple of months ago and compared with a Dell 20" TFT it it much better

The widescreen aspect makes it ideal for movies and probably games but I do not play them. The brightness is really good and I have no hesitation recommending it

It has an 8ms response time but I am not sure how long the guarentee is

I am also not sure that I agree with niceguyrichy about buying a Dell. I use a 20" for my work and it is nothing special but was the only decent one available a few years ago but I would probably look elsewhere when it is time to buy another one

    Hope it helps

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I've just ordered this Samsung at £180 with free delivery. They seem to be popular and recently won some pc mag award.

Thanks for all the advice, I decided to risk it and go for the AMW 19" from microdirect.co.uk. The shop's 100yards from my flat and it had 3 years warranty.

So far impressions are very good, it looks smart: all black, none of this plasticky silver nonsense, looks much better than friend's Aria 19"! and the picture seems good and clear (using DVI). No dead pixels too.

Was only £138 inc vat, I'd definitely recommend it.
