FOS Chasing Barclays to settle upheld claims

FOS have appointed a person specifically to chase up Barclays. Barclays are not settling upheld claims within the 8 weeks guidelines of the FOS.

FOS have advised all those waiting to leave this for another couple of weeks or until it has been 12 weeks and contact them again.

So anyone waiting please be patient. Easy to say I know and this money I am sure would go along way helping us all out at the moment but again we have to play the waiting game.

Mind you saying this Lloyds are a pain in the preverbial as well:confused:

    Hi Max
    Hope your well hunni.;)

I heard about this elsewhere, and of course your right about Lloyds as well, they are telling peeps that they have no timescale, if only for every week they do not pay out more interest should be included with the compo for waiting time, think that would help if this came as part of the process.

So I take it your still waiting then Max?

    Hi Di.

I am still waiting from April 2008 for Barclaycard Loans to settle full and final. This was taken up by a different Ombudsman who was chasing this under successive loan strategy. I have just heard that Barclaycard have lost our acceptance slip:shocked: do I believe this? Oh Yes anything is possible with them.

Will let you know when this is settled. By all accounts this is being treated as URGENT by both FOS and Barclaycard so should hear within the year:rotfl:

Correct me if i am wrong (i am sure you will lol) but did Barclays make an offer and it was wrong so you sent back to FOS and they have taken this long to sort it out ???

I know that my complaint with FOS (the one just won) was not actually adjudicated and i have been waiting a long time too. Still it had been sorted now but more with me talking to Lloyds of London myself and emails etc. I do think that FOS were having talks about general cases with them but its a long time to wait isn't it. I know that mine was treated as urgent (so they said) and I even had a letter in March of this year to say so but last week I called FOS and it was still waiting for an adjudicator and would be still but must admit I wrote to Lloyds a few times on the meantime myself. ;)

    Hope it gets sorted soon.

Is this not abuse of a dominant position ?
What rights do we have when Banks do not pay us our dues on time ? £25 a day charge might make them act a little quicker - does that thought make me as bad as them ?

    Hi Marshallka

Yep that is the one that I am still whinging on about from April last year the decision was upheld by FOS three successive loans. They finally paid out in July but only two of the Loan PPI. In the original letter from FOS they stated that I should be put back into a position as if I had never had PPI. As you know I have never agreed that I was put back in that position so I queried with my adjudicator. Baarclaycard loans wanted to settle the third and final loan but would not do so unless I signed to say it was in full and final.

It has taken since this time and two further adjudicators and an ombudsman then put back now to a further adjudicator. Anyway if I have not heard by 16th Dec I have to report again but have been assured that B/card are treating it very urgently. Yeah right!!!!!!!!!

Tried right from last year to sort it out with Barclaycard Loans but Shirley Williams bless her was unwilling to discuss anything. I have to say whenever I have rung to try to get this sorted she has been anything but helpful. Even the receptionist I spoke gave the impression that she was not the easiest of people to deal with.

Anyway Fingers crossed only have a few to settle now.

Can you not take this higher with FOS? I would have a go as its not right to do this to people. I know that some firms will not discuss if you have passed it on (firstplus were like that with me) but have to admit Lloyds of London (Cassidy Davis) have done and been fair about it too. Barclays want a complaint about "treating customers fairly" TBH. I would make one to the FSA about it. They clearly have not treated you fairly.

Hope you get there soon maxdp.;)

I suppose I could do. Did not really think about doing so really. Do you think it is worth having a go.?
