Long story but.......my boyfriend thought he would buy me some GHD's for crimbo but after ordering found out that they are fake. The item turned up and is lovely and to be honest i wouldnt have been able to tell they were fake. He has tried getting in touch with the company he bought them from but obviously they're ignoring him. He is going to try and sell them on to try and get at least some of his money back. He mentioned ebay but i wasnt sure. As long as he states that they are not genuine would he be able to do this? We have looked on ebay and there are loads of the same set that he bought but none say that they are fake. Any advice would be much appreciated

It's not just not allowed on ebay, it's actually illegal to sell anything fake. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0

How did your boyfriend pay for them??
I brought some which turned out to be fake, i paid with my credit card and got most of my money back you have to send them off to ghd and they send you a letter back sayin theyre fake etc,
theres a serial code you have to register them with and that lets ghd know theyre fake,
please dont sell them
i was told they could set the house on fire etc as theyre not upto our electrical standards.0 -

There is a thread on this board somewhere about people getting official solicitors letters for selling fake GHD's, knowingly or not.
Don't do it, concentrate more so on the place that sold them to you.2 angels in heaven :A0 -

He paid using his debit card. He has wrote a letter to the bank to see if he can get his money back from them but i think that highly unlikely. Yes he registered them on ghd site and they have come back saying deffinitely fake, and that he could send them off to america to be tested. I was worried that they wouldnt be safe enough to sell, and so you have just confirmed my concerns. thanks0 -
Thanks for all your replies. I will show him what you all have to say later. So ebay is not an option then. I was just looking at the same sets again on ebay and i would say that most of them are fake. The only way to tell, i guess is to ask the seller for the authenticity code that comes with the straightners. Thanks agin for your advice0

I sent mine off to yorkshire way
Who said to send them off to America??
ghd are VERY helpful and im 99% sure you will get most of your money back, it took me about 6 weeks, i paid approx £15 out of my own money for the return of ghd's and sending letters 1st recorded,
You send them to ghd who comfirm theyre fake they send you a letter then send the letter to your cc company who then persue the company you brought them off. You need to keep every email and send them to your cc to prove youve tried to get in touch with seller and asked for a refund on them as theyre not suitable
