I presently have Sky + and subscribe (£19.50 a month) I have the chance of a HD box but don't want/need HD yet, nor pay £10 a month. If a swap the box (and call sky to marry the card) will the + features work? So in effect i end up the same i have now but without the nasty scart lead but a nice HDMI lead instead? Also do i get any free HD channels?

You should as in escence the HD box is a "tarted up" Sky + box.
In terms of HD free channels - I dont think it comes as standard, I was informed I would have to pay the £10 per month to recieve HD quality and I would assume this would be Sky restricted in terms of whether the signal you recieve is HD or not, so in effect they monoplise this as they do with everything!!!0 -
You get the free to air channels - BBC One HD, C4 HD, and Lux HD. You'll probably notice a difference in the quality of the picture on all your channels once you're watching through the HDMI lead.0

Some people believe that the upscaling on the HD boxes isn't that great for SD content through the HDMI lead.
Personally, it's been fine for me. It could just be manufacturer specific.Dave. :wave:0 -

Very true, depends on your Sky box and TV brand. Always try HDMI and Scart and see which gives the best result for SD.0
