Hello everyone, please may I join in. I'm brand new to saving / budgetting, so anything that counts.

I would love to be saving for Christmas 2010, and need about £500 for it, based on weeks until the end of November, I make that approximately £11.90 per week required in the sealed pot. Anything extra will be a bonus!! I've based it on Thursdays, as this has morphed itself into target days.

I have a teramundi pot that I got for Christmas last year, so can easily use that (although would love to know the secret of not having to break it!!)

Thanks for having me on board.

    Hi all :j

Don't think I've updated yet this year, but the small change has been going in the pots (keeping 20p in a different one).

The digital displays are showing a total of £25.79 - not sure how correct they are as the 20p jar is showing an odd 1p

Hiya ceebeeby! Good to see you here saving the puffing cash! I've got 2 Terramundi pots and you DON'T need to break them to get the cash out at the end of the year. Use a knife and tilt the pot at an angle, that's the secret and I used mine all last year and won't be smashing either! It's just a way of getting you to keep on buying them - not for we wise ones though!

Glad you had a great time sparky! Great to get your youthful years back now and again eh!

Nearly keeled over on Friday lol - DS's preschool are giving everyone a tube of smarties for free - when the choc is finished, we are supposed to fill the tube with as many 20p pieces as possible and then all tubes will be entered into a prize draw - no idea what the prize is but it wont be pretty 20p pieces lol as they are for funds. Is it bad that my first reaction on reading the newsletter was "Are you joking???!! Don't you know they are supposed to go in my sealed tin??".

I don't blame you Nicki_Sue, they're always on the cadge at our lass's school with her little ones, but sometimes it goes a bit too far - unless they're giving away a full sealed pot as 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes!!! :D :T

savingmummy, you be as excited about your sealed pot as you darn well want!:j

Thanks a lot Kerfuffle & Hales! Much better now ta. Love to the Rockies Kerf.

Some shrapnel in the jar for me. I'm a bit of a sick Stunty this evening. Got a raging temperature and a cough going on. So I've eaten half a Vienetta. It's brought my temp down quite nicely! lol.
And on the subject of the whole money attracting money thing. Had a call off a lovely lady from the Financial Ombudsman who said she's almost at a decision about my PPI claim off the TSB. Nice!

    Hope everyone is well

    Stunty.

    Morning Stunty
Don't you just love it when that happens? They say things come in threes, so lets hope that happens for you :D. Hope you're feeling better soon mate, but I don't think half a viennetta is proper medicine though

I'm following your DF diary, so welcome to sealed pot challenge, whenever you get a bit disheartened or feel down, just pop in here and the guys on here will give you a lift and encouragement to carry on ;)

    Morning Sue
We had a fantastic day out, the downside was, not being able to get my foot from behind the crash bars and toppling over to the right, at a right hand junction, never mind, no harm done and everyone had a good laugh at me when they realised I was OK :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day, keep saving and wrap up well it's cold outside ;)
