  • I'd love to join in, if that's OK - this would be my first ever MSE challenge!
I'm intending to save £2 coins and 20 p pieces separately in piggy banks that I got for Christmas, so I think my sealed pot (a cardboard whiskey-bottle container that I'll seal up and put a slot in tomorrow) will be for 10 p pieces and below. Slightly worried that I might be overdoing it, what with challenging myself to save all these coins, but I'd like to give it a go anyway! No particular target - will just see how it goes.

Wishing a Happy New Year to everyone and looking forward to contributing more actively to MSE next year.

Emptied everything less than a £1 in to my pot from my purse this evening. Hope everyone has a good evening and Happy New Calendar.

    Good evening everybody,

I've gone around the house collecting as much loose change as possible, even emptied hubby's secret stash in the tray in the car ( a whopping 29c), and have also emptied my purse so that I can start with a clean slate for 2010. This is what has gone into the pot today:-

    Purse 17.69
    Tray .29
    Recycling 12.90
    Total 30.88

plus 7c into the American Pot.

And that's it, absolutely no more pennies for me.:rotfl:
    HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR
    AND
    ALL THE BEST FOR 2010
