Statuatory Sick Pay + Working Tax Credit

Hi,

Does anybody know if you still receive working tax credit if your receiving SSP while off of work?

You do, whilst on SSP you legally retain all working rights, including the number of hours you work for tax credit purposes
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

    Thanks CIS :)

Wife's having problems at work and was thinking of going on the sick due to stress. Would be a shame if we lost this as it makes up most of our income.

Do you know if SSP affects Housing Benefit? Whether it's classed as an income for this.

    Thanks

SSP is taxable income so will be included as HB income
