Media Extender Help Please

Hi guys,had a linksys media extender for a while now ,like this one >>>>>

Anyway never really had much luck with it,it`ll turn off during films and freeze etc and as i`m using it wirelessly i thought i`d try something else so i need some help setting it up please!
ok gota 400gb harddrive attached to my laptop running vista ultimate on one side of the room,then the tv,media extender and bt home hub the other side of the room...was gonna try powerline adaptors but what would i plug in?The Laptop,Homehub and Media extender?Just simply wanna stream my films from the hardrive and be able to watch them on the telly preferably without running a wire round the room.....cheers fellas
