Faulty Laptop end of warrenty today

Hey guys, Ok, I purchased my laptop online at dixons.co.uk, on the 02 Dec 2008, (1 year from now) Since the first month my laptop has been constantly overheating, On Decemeber 15th, I started to work away with partial visits back at home.

So now that I returned home for a good period now, rutrn date being 28th of November 2009 I am hoping for a collection and a repair on my product. The period i was working away, I had phoned up "THE TECHGUYS" who deals with the problems for my laptop, and they offered to collect my laptop but it was impossible because I was working away. They told my to complete a number of steps but none helped.

I emailed them just now "01 Dec 2009" at about 11:50pm with this information and reporting the fault issue's. I am confused if my warrenty has ended today "02 Dec 2009" or the "3rd.

So I have reported my problem via email before my warrenty has ended for my product specifiying that I am going to phone them up tomorrow, hoping they will collect my product and complete a repair,

  • Does anybody know if they are able to refuse? on the day of the end of the warrenty? - Hoping that I can put up a good fight the fact I have emailed them prior to the end of warrenty date.

  • Also, If my product returns after they have said they repaired it, but the problem persisted, Am I entitled for another repair?

    I don't know for sure but would say that the warranty ran out end of Dec 1st but as you put in your problem before then you are covered.

    With regards the problem re-occurring, we had a problem with our laptop, we contacted Toshiba just before the warranty ran out and they took it away and tried to fix it. They didn't and even though the laptop was now out of warranty because the problem was the same they took it back and did fix it properly.

    I gave The techguys a call today, and it was completely hasle free, Maybe my warrenty runs on the 3rd instead of the 2nd. am not sure but they are going to pick my laptop up tomorrow, :) hopefully they fix the problem.

    My email to them was just a safety net, to proove that I had reported my problem previous to the warrenty running out. but didnt need to refer to it.

    fingers crossed they fix my product or replace it =D hehe
