There's an Itunes video on backing up here.

It's about backing up purchases but it's easy to adapt it to backup whatever you like

I just periodically drag the "iTunes" folder in "My Music" and drop it onto an external drive or DVD. That is all you need to do.

Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
