Advice on my ASU policy

Hi, I have an ASU policy which will pay 2/3 of my equivalent monthly salary should I have an accident, fall ill or lose my job. My question is; if I am on the sick for say work related stress or depression etc, is that covered or not?

Reading through my policy it all seems cryptic to me so I am hoping some of you knowledgeable folk might have a general idea.

Thank you in advance.

You need to disipher your policy conditions.
I imagine in most cases stress or mental disorders will be covered though. If your struggling either put your conditions online or call the company involved.

I would feel more comfortable posting sections of the policy on here rather than talking to the insurance company. I will scan in the relevant data tomorrow and post back.

    Thank you.

Your insurers should be the first point of call..... things like stress, depression and back pain (when there is no mri/ cat scan evidence to the cause) are the most commonly excluded medical conditions from ASU/ PPI type policies because they are simply the easiest to fake. Alcoholism, drug use, pregnancy, attempted suicide etc all tend also to be excluded because they are self inflicted.

You would need to read the wording of the policy to determine if yours does or doesnt include these conditions.
