Another quick loft insulation query....

Loft is floored but is being emptied of junk so hopefully not as much space will be needed for storage.

There is some insulation under the flooring presently. When I add the new stuff.....should I lift the boards completely and lay the new insulation, or just lay it over the boards?

There will be a small central area that will have the flat board insulation under the flooring so that can still be used for storage but the rest of the loft will be empty.

If you really don`t need that space for storage and won`t really be going into the loft anymore then i would just lay your insulation on top of the boards , it will save you a lot of time and effort .
Plus the less you compact it down the better it will insulate the house.
