im just about to make a claim on my house insurance but when i checked my certificate i noticed they have got my date of birth and the year my house was built wrong. Will this affect my claim?

It should not affect the claim, if this is just a mistake. Correcting the details may cause a premium adjustment.
If I were you I would first of all contact customer services to correct the information and advise that you found the incorrect information when checking your documents, as you were looking to claim. Then phone the claims department.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
