Microsoft Money - can't restore backup

Having a disaster!! Was on pc this morning and couldn't close or backup MS Money. CTRL ALT Deleted and clicked 'end program now'. Opened pc again tonight and can't get onto MS Money. I'm panicking like mad as I've got everything financial for the last five years on there and will be lost without it.
When I put in my password I am getting the following message:
"Money had detected that you didn't close the file May 09 before exiting. Money now needs to verify the information in your file. This may take a few minutes if your file is large. Do you want to do this now? If you click No you'll need to open a different money file".
Whether I click Yes or No I end up going round in a loop and coming back to the above message.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated as I'm starting to panic!!!!
Thanks

This may be of help, copy your money data file elsewhere before trying any repairs.

Thanks - will give it a go, although I'm not brilliant at understanding anything like this, I'm more of a 'switch it off, then back on again" girl.0
