HELP need advice!!!

hi all just wondering if anybody had any advice for my problem! Some bills have come out of my bank today and i went overdrawn first thing this morning. Now the only reason i went overdrawn is because i forgot to transfer money from another account into the account which the bills come out of. now iv transfered the money over this evening which is an instant transfer so its now showing me in credit. Will i be charged even though the money is in the account the same day or will they (hopefully lol) leave me alone?? does anybody know coz the guy at alliance and leicester don't!!! cheers liam

  • The likelihood is that you will be since the funds were not transferred first thing and if you have literally just done it then you have missed the cut off point for any reversal of a charge for today. I would contact your bank tomorrow morning.

  • i think to avoid charges you would have had to transfer in the money before close of play today. if its a first offence you may get away with it, otherwise you'll most likely be charged

Most banks won't charge if you've rectified the account on the same day. They will only charge if at the end of the working day you are still over your limit.
  • well ive got my answer! 175 pound charge for 7 unpaid direct debits! not giving me money back so ive asked for a call back from a manager, if not letters are getting sent because its scandalous! even so i think ill change banks again because im not having that service. i would have thought that if the money was there at the end of the working day it would have been ok? there is no leway! if i had have gone over the end of the working day fine but that is shocking!
  • Yes A&L review charges are the worse, particularly as they take the REVIEW FEE out there and then, which then has a knock on effect of the rest of your money (by the way is this legal - can they really take it off you straight away without any written notice?)
Am at my wits end with them. Am paid weekly, which theoretically should work out fine, however DDpayemnts never go out on the same day as the date can fluctuate. Also, A&L want the funds in the day before payment so even if the DD goes out Wednesday and your money goes in wednesday they will still charge you as they want it in the day before.
I really really don't know what to do next
Any advice will be greatly received (as long as its practical and not some sanctimonious twit telling me its my own fault.) Many thanks in anticipation of all your helpful advice.
