Buying DVDs - What's O-Ring??

I'm trying to do some Christmas shopping and want to buy a DVD on Play website. Thing is, it's coming up twice - one says 3 Discs (self explanatory) and the other says O-Ring?

What is O-Ring?? Just because the 3 Discs version of this DVD is double the price!

I have put the links to the 2 products so you can see what I mean...

http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/6182500/Taxi-Driver-Casino-Mean-Streets/Product.html O-Ring

http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/3437989/Taxi-Driver-Casino-Mean-Streets/Product.html 3 Discs

TIA ;)

A fine question. Unfortunately I dont have a clue
I was thinking maybe the disc is a 'flipper' (2 on one side and casino on the other). But the 2 would be highly compressed for that to happen so I seriously doubt it

    Beats me?

O-ring is a little gasket thing used on cars and the likes.

Oring has several uses however, non that seem to relate to DVDs.

Unless its the Nigerian language? but that wouldn't explain the hyphen.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

"O-Ring" just refers to the cardboard slipcase that they come in.

    See here.

It's just a cardboard or plastic sleeve that slips over the box.

"O-ring" is a complicated name for a very simple thing.
  • Perfect, just saved myself £6 to get a cardboard sleeve!!
