Help with Microsoft Outlook

Ok, heres the score.
I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for a while and find it easy and intuitive (for a bit of a technophobe like myself anyway), but because I am now the proud owner of a PDA, I am being 'forced' to use Microsoft Outlook so that I may active synch the PDA with my laptop.
I use more than one email address through Thunderbird, and also more than one internet connection, as I travel extensively and use wireless hotspots as well as an o2 data card.
Thunderbird allows me to store in Account Settings when in the compose message window, more than one smtp setting for sending through the various connections I use. This is helpful because it saves having to remember the setting, it is just a case of clicking on the drop down menu and making the apporpriate selection.
Another thing Thunderbird affords me, is when I am in the compose message screen there is a very clear 'From' field in which I can see which email address I am using to send the message.
My questions are, firstly is there a facility in Outlook to save more than one smpt setting, and secondly is there a way of changing the appearance of the screen to show which email address is being used to compose the messages.
If these matters can be overcome, I would be most grateful, as I can not see any way of acheiving these two requirements.
Failing which is there any 'mobile' Thunderbird application that can be downloaded to my PDA which will allow active synch between the laptop and PDA. It would be most useful to have all me emails with me on the PDA.
Many thanks for any assistance.
Phil

Yes, it can. Create POP3 accounts in Outlook as required using Tools - Email Accounts. When you create a new email message, there is an Accounts button. Click that and you can choose which account to send the message through, and it says 'This message will be sent via xxxx" at the top of the email.0

Thanks chippy_minton. I had noticed that and clicked on it, it is just that it is not as clear as the Thunderbird program. I am probably being too demanding, but I have got so used to Thunderbird that it does irk me to go back to Outlook.
Do you have any suggestions re the smtp issue?
Cheers

You can have only one SMTP server setting per email account - unlike Thunderbird. If you want to use another SMTP server you have to add a new POP3 email account and then choose that account to send emails via.0
