When applying for a credit card, what documents do you need to send the credit card companies (if any?) - mobile bills, work-salary slips.....?
if so which card companies require you to send such details, and which usually dont?

None unless you are not on the electoral roll and they want to verify your identity (you would be asked for a utility bill and/or bank statement)0

I've never had to send anything.
They just check your credit file and as long as you are ok, you get the card.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -

I thought companies are more tight now, and require documents or bills, or even payslips as proof?
no?No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Most credit decisions are computerised and lenders give instant decisions and credit limits to online and telephone applicants without the need for documents, provided that your identity, available credit and so on can be verified electronically via the credit reference agencies. These, in turn, collate data from public records such as the electoral register.I thought companies are more tight now and require documents or bills or even payslips as proof?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -

What do you mean by available credit?
+ How can your available credit be vertified electronically,? how do they check it?No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Your available credit is the sum of the credit limits on the cards you currently hold plus any other credit facilities which are reported to the credit reference agencies. What do you mean by available credit? How can your available credit be verified electronically,? how do they check it?
Credit reports, when ordered directly from Experian (or Equifax) are invaluable. The guidance notes which the CRAs enclose are also a good read. The same info' is available online. For help, see page 1 of the *How to obtain credit reports* sticky.
Once you know what lenders will see, you are in a better position to improve their
opinion

It shows them what your credit limit is on any credit agreements on your credit file, so they can see what avaiable credit you have.
If they see other cards you have / (other credit)
can they turn around and say you already have credit, why do you want more, and reject for this reason (that i already have credit)?
+ i aint too sure on my total cards I have...so if i forget to mention some by accident, and they find out i didnt mention these, then whats the worse that can happen?
or nothing would happen? No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30
