Hi what is that loan secured on?

The council tax is what I am currently paying....and the loan is just a personal loan I got from the bank four years ago to buy a car with and do some house repairs

It's not a secured loan then, which puts you in a better position.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

He left me and at this moment in time I have no idea where he is staying.
Yes, he is on the tenancy agreement but think the chances of getting anything back are remote tbh

Send him a text asking him for the 50% of the rent - if he's on the lease then point out to him that if you can't pay the rent then HIS credit file gets marked too... that might get him to cough up :)

Is there any (paid) overtime you could do at work?
Any chance you could get a second job either evenings or weekends?

Elec & water might both be quite a bit less once you are living on your own (providing you are careful with usage).

As most of your problems are temporary until you move it might be worth considering whether A&L loan will allow a repayment holiday for say 3months (if they do, do check the terms of the repayment holiday to see how it will impact on the total interest etc)

    Hi

    Two thoughts.

!. please get out your tenancy agrement and get over to the House renting and selling forum as the experts there can advise you on your tenancy agreement. You can only give two months notice from a specified date and you need to know what that date is. Urgently.

I would advise your ex-BF that unless he pays half the rent, you will have not choice but to save half the rent for your new house and this will adversely affect him. I assume you know where he works?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
