Advice -DFS

Hi, I was meant to have a sofa delivered to my flat today. I made it known when I bought it on higher purchase that it was being delivered to a flat and they told me this was not a problem.

However, the delivery men took one look at my hallway and didn't even attempt to get the sofa out of the van as they could tell it was too narrow. Apparently they encounter this often, specifically in flats and I will need a sofa that can be assembled inside the flat.

They told me I would have a fight on my hands getting my money back.

I just spoke to DFS and was advised that they have dummy run procedures that can be done in order to prevent things like this happening. I was never offered this service, nor is it mentioned anywhere in my paperwork. I'm currently waiting on them to call me back.

I just wondered if anyone has any clue of where I stand? Are DFS not obligated to give me my money back?

Any info would be much appreciated.

i think on the papers i signed it said delivery would not be an issue, is there anything on your paperwork that says this

No, doesn't say it on my paperwork so I guess it's going to be my word against theirs that they were informed.

We had this problem,but they took it back ,i went into the store and luckily enough there was a smaller one of the same style.
But i was not offered any kind of dummy run,even more so as i lived an hour away from the shop!
