Should I chase EA after putting in an offer?

I have seen a property I like Im FTB. Looked at property twice and put an offer in of £114K house is up for £126. Having looked around think its well overpriced and would like to pay £118. The vendor has two agents trying to sell has started redecoration and some small improvements to try and sell. They have an offer accepted on another property so therefore want to sell asap. They say they have had other offers based on buyers selling there houses and another viewing this week. Im pretty sceptical of this as I know it has been on the market a decent time. I offered £114: thursday morning at around 10 but have not heard anything back since. I was pretty sure they would reject the offer. Should I phone the Ea or leave it to see if they come back. Sorry for the long boring post.

I would phone, its 'your' business so dont feel bad, or intimidated. You just offered to spend £114,000 and you have every right to a response, imo. I always call within 2 days to see if the EA knows how the land lies and how the offer was 'received'.

    Good luck :)

Does anyone else think it is pushy to call?

t-1000, I am an agent and if you called me to see what was happening & would assume that you were keen to get the property & advise my seller accordingly.

A better approach is to ring the agent concerned to arrange another viewing on a different property, ask to speak to negotiator who took your offer, when making this call. The negotiator will no doubt ask if you are still interested in the property you have offered on, you can reply that as you hadn't heard back, you assumed they weren't interested in your offer. This will open up a new line of conversation for you and you will be able to get the information you require.

I also think,IMO, the agent is being unprofessional & uncourteous (SP?) towards you, even if they can't geet hold of the seller to discuss the offer or the seller wants time to think about it, it doesn't take much to call you & advise you of this.

    t-100,

Excellent words of advice from Jorgan, that is exactly what I would have suggested also.

I agree that a phone call from the agent even if just to say 'no news' is not only courteous but is doing best by their client for whom they are selling, by keeping a potential buyer 'warm' so to speak.
