Help! - what is Rice flour?

I am hoping some one here can help. I have been trawling through a few cake recipe books and on a couple of them it asks you to use rice flour either white or brown.:confused: I have scoured the shelves in the supermarkets to no avail in the bakery isle and googling has drawn a blank. So does anyone have a clue what this…

Now i feel a plum as i buy ground rice to make a smoother rice pud for hubby as he hates the 'lumpy' stuff. As its not classed a flour never even contemplated using it for baking. But having said that i have never seen two varieties of it as the recipe i looked at yesterday asked for brown rice flour and if the ground rice is the same then that is only seen as white. If i have this wrong please someone correct me.
