Generally good tenants just moving out. Was removing some furniture for next tenant & notice a hole drilled through connecting wall to allow extension cable through. I know I can sort this out quite easily myself but feel I should make some charge for this but not sure how much. Any suggestions?

If you intend to make good then what you need to do is get 3 quotes from contractors, and choose the cheapest.
My LL was going to do something similar ( well she was going to do it herslef and charge us 200 qid or something) until the private tenancy officer at the council told her it was unlawful and wouldnt stand up in the small claims court.:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I agree.... if you put it right yourself, why bother charging? Even better, if its not causing a problem, leave it there for the next tenant to use when they want to run a wire!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0

Just make sure you put it in your agreement with the next tenant that they do not make any alterations without asking you first. Make sure it is clear in the agreement that if they do (and don't get your permission) then you will deduct from bond.It is unwise to pay too much but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, all you lose is a little money... that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot...it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better (John Ruskin - 19 ctry author, art critic & social reformer)0

From a tenants point of view, id leave it there - the next tenants will probably use it, if the previous tenants needed it then another probably will too. We have had to do all kinds of make holes for cables, extra sockets, broadband socketbecause of all this new technology and the cables it brings. The landlord was chuffed we were doing it becasue it saved him the expense and hassle.0
