  • No need to apologise magpiecottage. Thank you very much for taking an interest in my post and for the contents of your reply. Looks like I`ve plenty of information to reply to the Nat West Bank with. :D

    Sincere thanks again Steve.

I`ll let everyone know the outcome.;)
  • Just to bring this topic up to date.

I wrote to the Nat West Bank Manager on 18.12.2009 and hand delivered it. I requested answers to questions and that I wished to claim for mis selling PPI on my loan, I also requested a reply within 7 working days. I gave him the benefit of Christmas and New Year but as of 2nd January 2010 I had still not received a reply. I wrote a second follow up letter on Tuesday 5th January 2010 requesting answers and asking why my letter dated 18.12.2009 had not been replied to. Again I requested a response within 7 working days. I hand delivered the letter through the Nat West letter box that evening.

I am still awaiting a reply today. I appreciate that the 7 day deadline has not yet expired but assuming I do not receive a reply within the next couple of days, What should my next course of action be?

Many thanks for all replies and advice Steve

    Hi there Steve

    Hope your well.;)

If this is the first letter, they are entitled to 8 full weeks, so go from the date as you posted and mark down the 8 weeks on a calendar.

I do hope you hear soon though with a good outcome.
    Fingers crossed.

    Hello

If you don't get a response from your branch, you mght be better off sending your letter to the RBS PPI Concerns in Manchester, they deal specifically with PPI claims. I'm sure you'll find the full address in te stickies, if not I'll dig it out for you.

    Good luck!!

Thanks you very much Di & dec22 for your replies. :D

My letter dated 18.12.2009 was actually my second letter to Nat West. I was asking why questions from my original letter remained unanswered, eg Why was I previously informed by Nat West staff that I could cancel the PPI on my loan when it appears now that I can`t.

If I don`t receive a reply by the end of the week I`ll send a letter to RBS PPI Concerns in Manchester as suggested.

Just as a matter of curiosity, Can I adopt the same approach of replying no later than 8 weeks after receiving a letter from a Business, DCA, Company or Organisation when they request a response from me within say 7 working days?

Appreciate the help and advice. Steve

    Hi Steve, your welcome.

Arh of course, I should have gone back to read your posts, sorry Steve.:o

Yes that will be fine, go for it. I can't see why not, maybe dec22 will have some advice here for you as well.
    Fingers crossed.

  • Back on to this

Don't worry about where the complaint goes to. The rules say it can be received at any place where they trade or by any person working for them.

That would mean when they were actually "on duty" - you couldn't badger an employee in the pub but for example if they came to visit you at home (like they do in the ads) if it was in their capacity as an employee it would count.

Have you sent a letter off to RBS Manchester yet? They normally acknowledge receipt within 2 weeks. The PPI office should respond to your questions but generally that will be in the response to whether they are refunding or not and they don't generally enter into any correspondence or debate. I was told that over the phone when i sent in a letter some questions and am sure I have seen that mentioned somewhere on the forums as well.

The branches are absolutely rubbish in responding to both telephone calls and letters, I've only ever had a response from their Head Office and then I have written doirectly to them. Communication isn't a strenght unless they are chasing you for money!!

Good luck, I hope you have a response of some sort soon.
