Driving test - Theory

my DS is due to take his theory test tomorrow - and he can't find the paper part of his licence.

will he be able to take the test?

    No counterpart, no test.

    You really need to find it soon or he'll be shown the door on arrival.
  • I took my theory test in November, and i can confirm they were turning away *everyone* who did not have the paper counterpart.

    I think I must have been the only one who actually read the letter tell you what to bring on the day!

    NO paper counter part NO test better get finding hope you find it, if you cant phone and cancel the test and re schedue it to save embaressment.

    The irony is that it is the paper counterpart that is required for just about everything driving related, but is the least convenient bit of paperwork you will ever have. If you ever go to hire a car, you need the counterpart. Same if the Police give you a pull, and as you have found, when you go for a test.

    Why exactly did they foist photocard licences on us, since you still need to carry a scrap of paper around too?

    UK government bad thinking.

    The media made a fuss about it at the time.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
