My CTX 19" CRT monitor is finally giving up the ghost! I'm looking for a replacement LCD of same size or larger or should I go for one of those TV's which can act as a PC monitor? Thanks for any input!!
I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!

I'd get a proper monitor. If you want to watch TV on it you can with iPlayer etc.
I'm gussing your CRT is 4:3 rather than widescreen. If it is I'd recommend at least a 22" widescreen but preferably a 24".
This month's PC Format has a monitor review in it. Alternatively there are a few suggestions here.

I'd suggest:

Or if you want something a bit bigger but still fairly competitively priced:

Does this help?0

After some research I got this Asus from Amazon

Its really excellent and at about £140 delivered a bargain. It has an HDMI input and full HD resolution which gives you the option of plugging in a Blueray player, or Sky HD. Some graphics cards now output HDMI too (I use it with an HD AV Hard Drive to play HD movies on) There are some Freeview boxes about with an HD output so you could easily turn this monitor into a high quality TV too. you would not be disappointed.0 -

Thanks to you all. I really just needed a basic monitor - no games, etc and didn't realise that a 19" could be obtained for sub £100. My CTX was £300 + over 10 years ago!!! The Samsung is just what I need and seems to be a very good price!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0
