Help..desperate advice needed

Hope someone can help me.

My daughter wanted to make some pocket money for xmas, and decided to decorate some phone cases with crystals, then sell them on ebay.

Right...ok.. here goes the story...

I found some Ed Hardy Phone cases on ebay, emailed the guy, and he offered to sell them cheaper, if I bought 10, £5 each...only £50.00..as I thought this was a bargain, I offered to send via paypal immediately, which I did, so the purchase did not go through ebay.

Anyway, I have received the phone case...and they are not-authentic, they are so badly made, just awful, painted plastic, with shody boxes. As I am a novice ebayer, I didnt even know what price they should be.

I tried to claim through paypal, to get the money back, but it failed as I didnt buy through an auction.
I dont have the guys address to return them?

Any idea, on my consumer rights & legal stuff regarding selling conterfeit goods directly with a person, but not buying through a website?

Unfortunately, this is why you should really NEVER buy anything and pay with paypal other than with eBay - you have as good as NO protection at all.

I'm afraid that this may be an expensive lesson learnt, sorry!
