Why am I so rubbish with money?

I have been bailed out by my OH previously due to racking up big credit card debts, got myself on my feet owing nothing but here I am again in debt!! I even won £500 last month paid my £200 OD off, but guess what I'm OD yet again. I know I should have more money than I do I just can't manage it properly. I have never had any problems servicing my debts but I just don't want them anymore. I have a light bulb moment every day, I worry about money constantly, in fact money obsesses me but I keep spending it. My OH says money bores him and I have to learn to improve, how can I improve my money management?

why don't you start paying for things with cash. i've found paying for things with credit and debit cards doesn't feel like spending real money, so i have no idea how my funds are dwindling. cut up those cards.
also a spend diary, where you plot everything, would be a great idea for you
i find small steps towards debt management always leads to big improvement.MFW Newbie - #17. (#116 in 2019)

Can't post an SOA at moment as in the process of changing nursery voucher amounts so I am not sure how much I will earn this month, but I have approx £120 to spend on myself after paying debts and contributing to bills. This should be more than adequate but it isn't. We put £500 a month into a tin for food, petrol, stuff for kids and day to day expenses and I manage to make sure there is nothing left in that either though I am quite sure there should be. I do have a terrible, expensive makeup addiction, eg £69 on Clarins last month, £50 Aveda the month before so it is all my own fault. I need a good slap probably!!

Well, erm, not a slap, but certainly a lesson in the obvious
Have you worked out how much £69 with the interest on the loan is? As you arnt paying off the loan with this extra money and choosing to use these products, effectively you are paying for them out of debt.
40 a week for yourself is more than I have a month. Im not bitter about it, Ive chose to live like this, the quicker I get on with the job in hand of getting shot of this debt the sooner I will be 400 a month better off. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? OMG!!!! The make up is loads!!! Sad of me but I don't even spend that in a year!!!
Also you could cut down the household stuff by quite a bit and chuck the spare on your debts. Take a look at the old style board.
