pretty sure she can claim CB till daughter is 19 if in education, so you're liable till then.

if pwc relationship is ammicable, perhaps you could come to an arrangement to help daughter with fees or books, rent...... beer etc!!
University doesn't count - only if in sixth form or college. If the daughter is in university, child benefit should've been stopped already.
  • CM stopped for my daughter on the first Monday in September, as she had finished at sixth form the previous term. She is now studying with the Open University. She is 18.

So to reiterate what others have said, CM is not payable when a child is at university.

Thanks all useful stuff. It worries me that as i have not declared my income and employer for 12 years this will be backdated if i contact the CSA. They have always known where i live and have not had a DEO for 12 years. Sounds like it should have stopped already.

They can't backdate it unless the PWC asked for a reassessment.

How are things between you and your ex? Could you contact her to ask if she has told the CSA your daughter is now in Uni?

Please please don't worry. They can't do it. The only way you would have had to have 'fessed up with your new salary details was if your wife (or you) had asked for a reassessment. As she/you didn't then you have fulfilled your end of the bargain.

You should phone and advise that she is in Uni and ask when your liability to CS is due to end.

It appears it is over!! I called them and politely queried liability and they said it should have finished in MAY!? Cant figure that one out really, I am presuming its September? And the lady on the phone was very polite AND really tried to help! She said the Clerical side is complete (what does this mean?) and its is going to accounts to make sure all is up to date and all payments made. Do i have any thing to fear? All has been taken by DD for years and she said there is no arrears she can see. She also said "i shouldnt really say this but maybe you should cancel your DD as it appears you have overpaid, you will get a letter as its all computer generated saying you missed a payment but call when you do and say your understanding was that it is with accounts, your liability has ceased and you thought you could cancel it", then offer to pay if they say it should have been paid, what do you think, does this sound dodgy?

I would get them to confirm it in writing first .

Just by my personal experience with anything they do
