removed malaware - cannot connect to internet

Posted on here the other day(many thanks to all the people who gave their help and support) - finally managed to get malawarebytes to run on desktop and removed item, tired to connect to internet to post log but desktop will not connect comes up with Internet Explorer cannot display page. (using laptop at moment)
Any ideas? - still need the idiot's guide please (thank you)

As you are using XP, try downloading and running LSPFix.
Sometimes, when removing nasties which have modified comms protocols, the LSP (Layered Service Provider) is also deleted, because it is a corrupt version installed by the nasty.
I have used this several times on XP PCs that I have been asked to clean.
