New Claim been waiting 4 months

I am wondering how many days it takes HM REVENUE AND CUSTOMS to process a new child benefit claim.
As each time I ring them to follow up on this claim I keep getting told different dates.
There must be sum sort of guide line they have to for fill.

Over 1000 pound in debt.
To many red letters.
Welfare Rights helped me out.
Now I pay a little amount each month to clear debt.
So much eaiser the pressure has been taken off me. :A :A :A :A :A :A :A

It takes a minimumof 8 weeks if the other parent is compliant, if not then it can take up to six months.

    MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. That's child support, not child benefit.

They aim to process claims within 7-8 weeks, however first payments are often made within two weeks. This is providing there is nothing complicated about your claim, for example if you are a new arrival to the UK.

Although they do often have a backlog, 4 months is a long delay. Ask your MP to make a complaint on your behalf.
