Patiogro greenhouses
Options
I have a Patiogro Greenhouse - complete with the extension kit (which includes a UV stabilised PV cover) - ie a "made to measure" heavy-duty plastic cover which converts the shelving unit into a greenhouse.
I have just discovered its been damaged irreparably - what looks like slashing through both sides of the top and some minor damage along a couple of the seams adjacent to metal frames.
My question is: I dont know whether this damage is deliberate or "fair wear and tear". I strongly suspect its deliberate - as I've noticed it just after an "incident" with some workmen re my house (wish I had checked the state of play before they came in - so I knew for certain if its down to them:mad:).
So - whatever the reason for it being damaged - I need a new one and it will cost me £30 to get it.
However - as I can't be certain which of these two things is the cause of the damage - then is it actually possible for "fair wear and tear" to have caused this thick polythene cover to have suffered such damage - in the space of only about one year at that? Does this thick polythene stuff go brittle with age (and not a lot of age at that - being only one year old approx)?
I ask - because I dont want to spend a further £30 only to find that it was "fair wear and tear" - because the same thing has happened again.
Has anyone else got a Patiogro Greenhouse with the plastic cover and knows how long I can reasonably expect this cover to last of itself?
This is the product I am talking about:

I haven't got that particular greenhouse, but I've had one of the "compact" things and they have a cover made out of the same stuff, saying that I would expect the cover of yours to be a better quality than the run of the mill 4 tier patio greenhouse.
Saying that also, I would expect the people who sell the patigro, to make and charge extra on the items they sell because of the name.
The covers I have had, last one or two years, they normally break where they have been repeatedly folded or stressed, or worn away against something, not in lines that look like like yours sound.
So I would guess that the slashing was deliberate, but obviously this is without seeing it. The wearing on the seams, sounds like it could well be normal wear.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Thank you.
Well - I guess its a bit of both then - and, as it happens, I can report a bit of good customer service for once.
I rang Patiogro enquiring about these covers - and got a nice person at the end of the phone who, before I'd virtually opened my mouth said that they realise they had a batch of faulty ones and they will send me a new one.
So - it doesnt matter (in one respect anyway:rolleyes:) - as the bits of damage that do look attributable to wear and tear mean I am getting a new one free of charge. I am quite happy with that service from the firm.
As regards the bit that looks like deliberate damage - I'd better not name the firm responsible for that - as this would not be the first time they have used "nasty" tactics against me as their customer - and I would prefer not to find out what further "nasty" tactics they might have up their sleeve.
Pleased with the service from Patiogro though - though I guess I deserve a bit of good service from them - considering just how many things I have bought from them.0
