Building a supporting wall for car hardstanding

Hi,
At our house there is a fairly steep slope to the side of our drive which at the moment is grass and a few small apple trees. We are hoping to level this and create a hardstanding area for the cars and eventually pt up a timber framed garage.
What is the best way to go about this so there is no subsidence? I have access to loads of hardcore so the infill and finishing is not a problem but would like to be pointed in the right direction in terms of creating the structural support?
Many thanks,
Sturt

I have been watching some workmen building a retaining wall near me. Very complicated, big deep foundation with re-bar embedded in it. Then big hollow concrete blocks slid down over the re-bar and then concrete in the hollow blocks. finished off with facing bricks. Also several quite large drainage holes to prevent water building up behind the blocks. This wall is retaining soil to a height of about 7ft. They were there several weeks, so it is not a quick job to do it properly.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
