British Airways strike

I bought flights for British Airways over Christmas before the potential strike action was announced.
The tickets were bought through Travelocity on a Mastercard. Since I got the tickets through a third party, does this mean I will not be able to get section 75 protection for the tickets if the strike goes ahead?
Thanks,
Simon

My friend is due to fly to Mexico (with BA) on 22 December to get married. The wedding should take place on 26 December (Boxing day). Approximately 50 friends and family members are going out to attend the wedding, but of these only 10 (including my friend, her fiance, his parents, and the best man) have booked with British Airways. The rest booked package holidays with other tour operators (including Thomas Cook and First Choice ) and have different departure dates but all would have arrived by Christmas Eve and will be there in time for the wedding. She also has two sisters living in USA, who will be flying over with their respective families. So far those who booked with BA have not been able to find alternative flights - Mexico is a popular winter destination. So she might have to cancel the wedding. As if that wasn't bad enough, they have just found out that those who booked with other tour operators, have no redress. they cannot cancel or postpone their holidays without losing all of their money. Basically this is because they are not part of an official wedding party, arranged by their respective tour operators. The fact that the wedding that they planned to attend might be cancelled, is deemed irrelevant as it does not prevent them from going on holiday. Granted, these people can still have a nice holiday, but the only reason for going was to attend her wedding. It also means that if she decides to marry in Mexico at a later date, those who had to save up to travel this time (with other tour operators) probably won't be able to afford to go again.
Needless to say, she is devastated and fuming at the same time.
I don't know enough about the reasons behind the proposed strike action, to say whether it is justified or not, but I find it hard to sympathise when I see the impact on ordinary people.0
