Any ways to save money on season ticket?
Hey folks, basically I live in Glasgow and work in Edinburgh and therefore have to pay for travel costs to get there. It is 290 quid for a monthly season ticket on the train which takes 50 minutes and the buses are very irregular meaning i'm forced to take the train, are there any ways i could make savings on this?

Have a look at this thread Link there's only two train a day each way but the timings might be OK but for £1.80 each way thats got to be worth a shot, but make sure you ask for a 'Crosscountry Anytime single ticket' and you can only travel on their trains
Glasgow Central to Edinburgh Waverley/Haymarket 06.00 or 09.00 Mon-Fri
Edinburgh Waverley/Haymarket to Glasgow Central 19.03 or 21.12 Mon-Fri
Thanx to Jamesbrownontheroad for the linkWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

Just to check, are you buying your monthlys efficiently? i.e. Always buying on a Monday and extending the ticket so it always ends on a Friday, plus making sure you aren't paying for train travel when you are on holiday.
You can save 10-15% this way.0
