I wonder if any1 can advice me please.

My partner will be out of work by the end of the week. I am wondering what help we will recieve benefits etc....

We have a small amount in savings but nothing big enough to affect any benefits.

my partner is paid on the PAYE scheme and therefore wil lnot recieve any redundancy money.

You might be able to put in a joint claim for JSA - not sure how this works if you're both entitled to contributions absed though.

  • If we both put a claim in I am not sure if we will be moved to income based as we will have no household income

I'm not sure what would happen to the JSA, but he needs to claim, jointly or alone, so his NI contributions are covered.

Isn't he entitled to CB JSA as well?

I think you need to be on IB to get help with the mortgage though so that would probably be better anyway...

Contact tax credits as soon as his job stops, and you should get help with council tax so contact them as well.
  • We would makea claim jointly. I dont know im more confused than ever. I think we will get income based JSA but what happens does any1 know thw amounts we will get

    JSA
    Child tax

Anything else we would be entitled to?

    thanks again

The couple rate of JSA is just over £100 a week.

But I think, you can both claim CB JSA if entitled to it, and that would obviously be £64ish each.

CTC would be around £50 a week for the one child. You would continue receiving £20 a week child benefit.

You should not have to pay council tax.

You would receive exemption from NHS charges too.

You have to wait 13 weeks for help with your mortgage but I'm pretty sure you'd have to be on income based JSA for that.
  • thank you everyone

lets fingers crossed for income based jsa then. because its my mortgage that is my primary concern we do not want to lose the house.
