Rude Emails from multiple GMail accounts, think it's the same person, can I find out?

Options
Hello

I'm getting rude emails from a GMail account. Also receiving similiar rude emails from multiple GMail accounts which I believe is the same person.

Is there anyway of finding out if this is the same person using these multiple email accounts?

Thanks

Sunni

Just block those addresses, they'll get bored eventually.

Next to reply inside the message their is an arrow - click on it and select show original

It should show which ip address the mail originated from - if they are the same it is the same person

Can't see the arrow, im using Microsoft Outlook - I've looked under internet headers and saw the same IP address from different gmail accounts - would this be proof that its the same person?

Not proof as the IP could be an ISP proxy, but it's a pretty strong suggestion and it could convince me as the likelihood of it being unrelated people is more remote than it being the same person. .

I don't think the sender IP appears in mail headers - just the IPs of the various mail servers the message passed through on its way to you.

I've just sent an email from Gmail to another email account and nowhere in the headers is the IP of this machine shown.

Try it out for yourself and see if you can find your own ip anywhere in the headers

Sorry I mean the IP address of the mail servers. As some of these IP addresses are the same from different Gmail accounts I thought it would mean it's the same person.

There are a lot less mail servers than people so seeing the same IP on two different emails proves nothing.

You probably are correct that the one person is using different accounts unless you have somehow come to upset lots of people and they've all decided to email you pointing out your shortcomings but so what? Just mark the mails as spam so you don't see more from the same account and get on with your life.
