Hi all,
About 2-3 months ago I bought a Canon MP190 all in one printer i.e. it was supposed to print, scan and copy. At the time I didnt bother to check if the copying and scanning worked which was a mistake in itself.
About 2 weeks ago I needed to use the scanning function for the first time. But I could not get the scanning software to work. I sent emails to canon about the problem and they advised me on solutions - none of which worked. At the end of my tether, I emailed canon again asking what I do now since none of the solutions worked and here is a line from the email - "we can not garantuee full functionality of all functions for this software."
What does this mean for me? Am I entitled to any sort of refund, or do I have to make do? What are my rights as a consumer?
Thanks in advance:beer:

I would recommend completely uninstalling all the Canon software and the printer and starting again from scratch. Make sure you follow the install procedure to the letter, ie, if says don't plug in the printer until you've installed the software from the CD then make sure you do that.
Once installed, check the Canon site for the latest drivers and software and install.
Canon are not responsible for any incompatibilties between your printer, its software and your operating system. Out of interest what is the OS?0 -
Sometimes the install on printers et al is faulty. I just spent an hour trying to install my Dell printer. Now its fixed.
As above uninstall it cleanly. Use ccleaner if it sees it. Sometimes the add/remove won't see printers. If it's not seen by anything to remove put in Canon into search and manually remove. Also if you're confident go into registry and remove Canon entries.
Always reboot after uninstalling.0 -
Did you follow the instructions on the included quick start guide?
As has been suggested, uninstall the software and follow the instructions exactly.
I have a different model Canon MP "all in one". That had to be all connected, mains, p.c. but not switched on until the cd software had been installed, yours may be different though.
I've usually found Canon U.K. support to be excellent, patient and responsive.0
