Hamilton Forbes... has it not occured to anyone else that this is the name of Penelope Keiths character in "To the Manor born"? Mrs Hamilton-Forbes :)

Anyway I'd be more tempted to say NO and instead look into local advertising... like the school magazines, local village newsletters (ours is really quite good I have to admit! it's almost a proper little paper) and even leaflet dropping around where you are. We had one through recently from a local lady offering a really good deal but for the next evening only and sadly I was out that night or I'd have thought of taking her up on it!

Personally, I wouldnt bother with this and I work in marketing.

If you dont know exactly who it will be reaching/if its your target audience etc, then dont waste your money.

Also as others have already suggested, there are cheaper/faster ways to get your message out there.

Email is fine as long as you have permission to use the email addresses for your purpose and not to sell/send on to a third party. Also, make it as personal as possible and this will go down better. ie. not a forward as such

Also worth just adding a note on the bottom that if they dont want anymore emails from you, send an unsubscribe message back to you - that should cover you for data protection (very difficult to enforce)

Word of mouth is always strongest for your kind of business so i think your referral idea is good.

If there is anything I can help you with or you want to bounce a few promotional/advertising ideas just PM me.
